Old News (2003)

December 20- HAPPY HOLIDAYS ya'll. We've just posted a bootleg recording of our Nov. 1 show at The Blue Mule (click here to listen). Not to sound like a hippie jam band, but we encourage taping at all of our shows. We only ask that, if you do tape a show, please give us a copy of it. If we're pleased with your recording, and our performance, we'll post it on the site. Our next show is at HERMAN'S HIDEAWAY on Wed. January 7. We play nice and early (8:30pm), so tell your daddy we'll have you home by 10. We will soon have plenty of free tickets available. They be posted on the site, as well as emailed to everyone on our list, as well as handed out to everyone we come in contact with before the show.

December 7- No more shows this year. We've got much in the works for the new year. In addition to our regular hangouts (ie. Surges & The Blue Mule), we'll be playing several new Denver venues, as well as expanding into Fort Collins and Evergreen. In the meantime, pop in the Bad Directions demo and enjoy the holidays.

November 22- Another success at Surges. Thanks again to HORSE THIEF, for making the night just that much better. We now have bad directions stickers available. We will be handing them out at all of our shows, but if you can't wait that long, email us and we'll send you a few.

November 13- Brad got a haircut. Dan's looking forward to the Jose Feliciano show this weekend, and Carlos has his eye on a new set of drums. Other than that, we're just preparing for next friday. We'll see you at SURGES.

October 20- Thanks to those who came out to Surges. It's amazing the difference a great crowd (and you were just that) can make at a show. Also thanks to our friends 'HORSE THIEF' & our new friends 'WHAT TRIBE'. Both bands kicked ass, and more importantly, got the crowd in a drinkin' mood.

October 2- We have officially changed our name to THE BAD DIRECTIONS (sans Bradley Weaver & the). I have changed the name simply because we are a BAND, and not a singer/songwriter with a backing band. Also, I hope this will make it easier for all the promoters who can't seem to get our name right.

September 29- We'll be taking just a few weeks off to work on new material and do some recording here at Where's Izzy studios. We'll be back on the scene by late October.

September 21- The Soiled Dove show was a success & we met some fellows ('Horse Thief') with a very similar musical vision. Look for us to be splitting some shows real soon. Big show this friday at Surges. Brother Brandon will be opening the show representing 'Seven Eight' out of Fort Collins.

August 21- Thanks to everyone who came out to The Hard Rock Cafe last night. We sincerely apologize for the late start. Thank you so much for hanging out late on a school night. The show was a success and DENVERSHEARTBEAT.COM captured it all on film. The show will air, on DCTV, sometime in october. I'll keep you posted.

August 14- The live demo is complete. We came away from the session at Your Sister's Studio with 8 keepers. Until September 1, I will send a free copy of the demo to anyone who orders 'THINK' from cdbaby.com. Otherwise the demo will only be available at our live shows.

August 4- Brandon is in the process of doing the final mix of our live demo. We should have the recording available at our next show (Hard Rock Cafe on the 20th).

July 17- thanks again to everyone who came out to The Blue Mule last weekend. we had a great time & we hope you felt the same. the session up at YOUR SISTER'S STUDIO went very well. we recorded live with no overdubs, so the tunes will represent our true live sound. we recorded 5 tunes that are not on 'THINK', and then, since we had some time left, we recorded 3 tunes from the album. we chose songs that we felt had become completely different monsters from the album version. brandon is in the process of mixing and mastering the tunes, which means that they will be available real soon. we will post them on the broadjam site and we will also have a cd version available at our shows.

July 2- tomorrow we head up to YOUR SISTER'S STUDIO in Fort Collins to record our first demo as a band. We are hoping to capture 5 or 6 songs that represent our live show.

June 16- Thank you to all of our friends who came down to SURGES on Friday. We feel it was, by far, our best show yet, and we're glad ya'll were a part of it.

June 8- I recently had the pleasure of doing the music for a short student film titled 'SID'S NIGHTMARE'. i'm not sure when or where the film will be shown, but if it is open to the public, i will let everyone know. I've posted a new recording of my tune 'REMEMBER THIS' on the broadjam site. For those of you keeping score, i have been writing new tunes. Dan, Carlos, & myself are planning on heading up to YOUR SISTER'S STUDIO, in Fort Collins, sometime soon. From those sessions, hopefully will have some of the new stuff on tape/cd/vinyl (whatever the kids are listening to these days).

May 14- There is a new review of 'THINK' at ctrl.Alt.Country, however it is in Dutch. As soon as I get a translation, it will be posted on the albums/reviews page. I do know that it got 3 out of 5 stars.

February 22- 'THINK', the new album, is now available. You can get the album directly from me (for $10) or online at cdbaby.com. The album will cost you $12 at cdbaby, but 4 of those dollars go directly to cdbaby (a tremendous friend and resource to any independent musician). order 'THINK' @ cdbaby.com
